Boy, 13, shoots dead his family, spends his day in school, then kills himself

A 13-year-old boy killed his police officer parents as well as his grandmother and great-aunt before spending a full day at school and then taking his own life.

Police believe Marcelo Pesseghini shot each victim in the head with a .40 caliber pistol early Monday morning at the home in Sao Paulo, Brazil, before catching a lift into school with a friend.

The father, Luiz Pesseghini, 40, a police sergeant with 19 years service was found in bed. The mother, Andreia Pesseghini, 30, who had served in the military police for 16 years was found on her knees in the bedroom. (Marcelo and his parents pictured above)

The grandmother, Benedita de Oliveira Bovo, 65, and great-aunt Bernadete Oliveira da Silva, 55, who lived in a different section of the house were both killed in bed.The teenager was found dead from a gunshot to the left temple and his father's police-issue service revolver was found nearby.

A second gun, a .32 caliber revolver, was found inside the backpack the teenager took to school.

The teenager appears to have been inspired by the infamous Amityville killings of 1974 when a man killed his parents, two bothers and two sisters at their home in Amityville, Long Island, New York.  All were found dead in their beds.

CCTV footage from a security camera shows Marcelo Pesseghini casually walking to school in the early hours of Monday morning
On December, 9, 2012, Pesseghini posted a famous picture linked to the Amityville case on his Facebook page.

CCTV footage taken from a security camera close to the property in the Brasilândia district in the northern part of São Paulo appears to show him casually walking back home after school.

'Everything seems to indicate that Marcelo (Pesseghini) killed his parents and relatives,' Itagiba Franco, of the Sao Paulo Civilian Police's homicide department, told a press conference.
Franco said Pesseghini had told a friend he wanted to kill his parents and become a hitman.

Marcelo and his dad
'He always told me he wanted to become a hired killer. He had a plan to kill his parents during the night, so that no one would notice and escape in the parents' car and live in an abandoned place,' police quoted the unidentified friend as saying.

Sao Paulo police commander Benedito Roberto Meira said there was no sign that someone had broken into the house and ruled out 'an act of revenge by a criminal group' against the teenager's father and mother.

Worryingly the teenager appears to have been inspired by the infamous Amityville killings with the crimes bearing chilling similarities to the 1974 murders.

In the early hours of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr killed his parents-Ronald and Louise and four siblings. All were found dead in their beds.

The Amityville killings later sparked rumours of the supernatural after it was claimed that the house where they took place was haunted.

A famous picture known as the Amityville Ghost Boy which emerged in 1976 purports to show the ghost of the youngest victim of the massacre.

In December last year Marcelo Pesseghini posted the Ghost Boy picture, on his Facebook page.

Woman Pregnant For 46 Years Gives Birth To Mummified Baby

Internet image
But for the fact that it is backed up by a seemly reasonable medical explanation, this story is as weird as it gets. Infact, I had to read it over and over because before now, I would never have thought it possible to carry a dead foetus with coming to any harm. In fact if this happened in Nigeria, many will have attributed some form of spirituality to it. Read the very educative story below:
In 1955 in a small village just outside Casablanca, 26 year old Zahra Aboutalib is pregnant with her first child. She was looking forward to giving birth, but after 48 hours of painful labour, she was rushed to the local hospital. Doctors informed her that she would need a caesarean section. On the ward Zahra saw a woman in terrible pain die in child-birth. She fled the hospital fearing she would meet the same fate if she remained.
In the days that followed, Zahra continued to suffer excruciating labour pains but the baby remained resolutely in her womb. After a few more days the pains ceased and the baby stopped moving.
In Moroccan culture, it is believed that a baby can sleep inside the mother to protect her honour. Zahra believed this myth and put the pregnancy out of her mind. She adopted three children and in due course they made her a grandmother.
More when you continue....

Zahra Aboutalib

Many years later when Zahra was 75 years old, the pains suddenly returned. Her son being concerned for his mother's well-being wanted her to see a specialist. For this they had to travel to Rabat where they saw Professor Taibi Ouazzani. He suspected the protruding belly was being caused by an ovarian tumour and arranged for her to have an ultra-sound scan. This revealed a large mass that he could not identify.
He referred Zahra to a specialist radiographer for a second opinion. He could see it was a calcified structure of some sort, but it took a detailed MRI scan to reveal that it was the baby Zahra had conceived 46 years earlier.
Lithopedion Baby
The stone baby removed from her womb
Zahra had an ectopic pregnancy where the egg had implanted in the fallopian tube. The foetus that developed, burst out of the fallopian tube and continued to develop in the abdominal cavity. It survived by attaching it's placenta to vital organs around her stomach.
Professor Ouazzania was faced with a difficult decision when deciding if it would be safe to try and remove the foetus. The foetus weighed 7lb and measured 42cm in length.
When they operated they discovered that the foetus had calcified and was a hard, solid lump. It was, essentially, a stone-baby. More concerning was the fact that it had fused with her abdominal wall and vital organs.
After nearly 4 hours the surgeons manage to remove the calcified foetus from Zahra and the operation is hailed a success.
Dissected Foetus
Dissected foetus showing internal organs
In an ectopic pregnancy, if the dead foetus is too large to be re-absorbed by the mother's body it becomes a foreign body to the mother's immune system. To protect itself from possible infection the mother's body will encase the foetus in a calciferous substance as the tissues die and dehydrate.
As the calciferous wall builds up, the foetus is gradually mummified becoming a lithopedion or stone baby.

Heartbreaking: Two Boys Age 5 And 7 Crushed To Death By a 16 Foot Python

Tragic: Little Noah and Connor Barth were killed by a massive python in their sleep after it escaped from its cage
Tragic: Little Noah and Connor Barth were killed by a massive python in their sleep after it escaped from its cage
I came across this story today and my heart broke.
Two cute little boys met their untimely deaths in the hands of a 16 foot Python while sleeping in the apartment above a pet store in Canada. The reptile slithered upstairs into the apartment they slept through the ventilation ducts and creeped into the ceiling.
It then fell through the ceiling and dropped onto the small boys from above.
Read the full report by DM below:

Two small brothers, age 5 and 7, have been tragically strangled to death in their sleep in Canada, by a  massive 16-foot python that escaped from a pet store below the apartment where the children were staying the night.
The first pictures have emerged of little Connor and Noah Barth, who were sleeping soundly when the 100-pound African Rock Python fell from the ceiling and attacked them.
Big snake: This anaconda is believed to be one of the very large snakes Jean-Claude Savoie kept at his Reptile Ocean pet shop
Evil snake: The 100 pound, 16foot snake that strangled the little boys at the Pet shop
The boys were spending the night with one Jean-Claude Savoie, who lives above the Reptile Ocean pet store that he owns in the tiny New Brunswick city of Campbellton. Reptile Ocean is home to a veritable menagerie of exotic animals, including crocodiles, tarantulas, tortoises and at numerous snakes.
Mr Savoie described to Global News how he walked into the living room and found the two boys dead about 6.30am on Monday. He found the snake coiled in a hole nearby.
He said the creeping serpent slithered upstairs into his apartment through the ventilation ducts and creeped into the ceiling.
It then fell through the ceiling and dropped onto the small boys from above. Mr Savoie said he believes the snake coiled around both children and crushed them as they slept together on the floor.
The National Post reports that the snake was a 14 to 16-foot African rock python that even its owner said was 'vicious' and was rarely handled.
The boys are brothers, the children of Mr Savoie's best friend. He said they often sleep over at his apartment.

'I thought they were sleeping until I (saw) the hole in the ceiling. I turned the lights on and I (saw) this horrific scene,' he said.
'(The snake) went through a ventilation system. I don’t understand how it did it. It went through the ceiling... and the snake fell through the living room from the ceiling,' he said.
The snake is not usually handled by anyone in the store and Mr Savoie said he does not know how it escaped its cage in the pet shop.
He said he has owned the giant snake for more than a decade.
'My body is in shock. I don't know what to think,' he told Global News.
The horrifying deaths of the two children shocked residents of the small city of 7,400 in northern New Brunswick.
Police said an autopsy Tuesday will confirm the exact cause of death, though officials believe the boys were crushed to death by the snake.
Mr Savoie said he captured the snake and turned it over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who are examining the creature.
An RCMP spokeswoman said the major crimes unit is investigating the case and will determine whether any criminal charges should be filed against the owner.

Really sad, but I would NEVER let my kids sleep above a petstore full of deadly animals, NEVER.

10 Yr Old Nigerian Girl Makes Forbes History

 So nice

Zuriel Elise Oduwole, an amazing 10-year-old of Nigerian-American heritage, has made history as the youngest person ever to be interviewed in Forbes.
The interview with the award winning documentary film maker, conference speaker and writer is featured in the August 2013 edition of Forbes Africa.
At just 10, whiz kid Zuriel possesses amazing talent that has resulted in her interviewing business leaders, current and past world leaders and heads of states.
They include the current Presidents of Tanzania, Mauritius, and Malawi–one of Africa’s only two female national leaders. Others are ex-presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Kufuor of Ghana.
Zuriel has also had a one-on-one interview with Africa’s most successful businessman, Mr. Aliko Dangote. She even got a standing ovation for her sets of provoking and creatively intelligentquestions to tennis superstars, Venus & Serena Williams, during their world press conference in Nigeria.
Zuriel says she has not been granted an interview by the President of Nigeria because of his busy schedules but hopes to achieve that soon.
Zuriel (which is Hebrew for God is my Rock) believes if she can walk a mile, then there are girls who on seeing her work and progress made, would walk a mile and half.
